Dear ,

There are a lot of great things about the summer months. Great weather, less responsibility, and longer days all make for one of the best times of the year. Unfortunately, and despite those longer days, the summer season always seems to absolutely fly by. That’s why it’s important to make the most out of the few precious months that we have to work with.

The good news is that outdoor adventures don’t always require a ton of planning and preparation. In fact, some of the most memorable times spent camping and engaged in other outdoor recreational activities are the ones that come together at the drop of a hat or at a moment’s notice, throw your gear in the car, and hit the road.

Read on for the awesome activities happening in our area in August…AND…don’t forget September and October they are great month’s to come out for a weekend and enjoy the wonderful weather and all the events.  See www.plumascounty.org

We’re looking forward to seeing you soon!

You're invited to the

3rd Annual Horses Unlimited Event!

From 4:00 to 7:30, Saturday, August 29, the Golden Coach RV Park & Campground is pleased to invite everyone from Lassen, Plumas, and Sierra Counties to our 3rd Annual Horses Unlimited Event. This year we’re having a Chili Dog/Burger event at Golden Coach Café for a $10 per plate donation. Come to eat, come to donate, and come for a chance to win one of many great prizes.

Horses Unlimited provides therapeutic horseback riding to student riders ranging in age from two to over fifty years of age.  Some of their disabilities include multiple sclerosis, developmental disabilities, hearing and vision impairments and acquired brain injuries.  The riding program is designed to give each rider the opportunity to expand the limits of their abilities in a safe environment.

Therapeutic horseback riding offers physical, emotional and mental rewards to individuals with disabilities. Research shows that horseback riding gently and rhythmically moves bodies in a manner similar to a human walking gait.  Riders with impaired mobility can experience increased balance, muscle control and strength.

Individuals with learning or developmental disabilities are motivated by riding to increase concentration, patience and discipline.  The unique relationship formed with a horse can help improve interpersonal relationships, increase self-esteem and coping skills.

During the 20 years of operation, a core of dedicated, trained volunteers and others in the community have created an environment of safety and personal triumph for people with special needs.  These volunteers served eighteen riders during 1994, the first year of operation.

Please come out and support this very special event. Donations can be made
directly to Horses Unlimited. All donations sent by mail will receive a
receipt with tax I.D. Number.

Checks can be made payable to Horses Unlimited and sent to Golden Coach RV,
